a litchi mission over tower colliery opencast mine, opened in 2012 after tower colliery's deep mine closed in 2008.
signal was lost shortly after the drone flew beyond the hill, the mission continued until batt low prompted a return to home. Two potentially serious issues were observed.
1. despite me programming a 70mtr relative to ground mission, the ground level at the far side of the opencast had been artificially made up, way beyond any allowance that i anticipated, resulting in a worryingly low fly-by. So use topography data as an advisory measurement.
2. the return-to-home height is set relative to take-off, leading to a straight-line trajectory to the home point ignoring the large hill. (i regained signal just before this and sent the drone up, despite litchi insisting on sending it home).
Litchi used with mavic pro 4k.
