John Scott is a Canadian open-water swimmer famous for his 1994 record crossing of Lake Ontario, and he now uses his experience in human capital consulting and speaking to help others optimize performance. Scott served as a Swim Master for the Special Olympics and continues to work with organizations to improve leadership and employee development by applying principles of sustainable performance and human capital optimization.
Swimming Achievements
Lake Ontario Crossing: In 1994, John Scott set the fastest amateur time for crossing Lake Ontario, completing the swim in 14 hours and 42 minutes.
Special Olympics: He served as the Honorary Head Coach for the Special Olympics Canadian Team in 1993 and was Chairman for the 1997 Special Olympics World Winter Games.
Awarded for Swimming: He received the Cliff Lumsdon Award from Solo Swims of Ontario for his swimming achievements.
