Traditionally, the complete removal of the prostate or radiation to the entire prostate have been the mainstays of treatment for prostate cancer. But questions arose as to why the entire prostate gland needs to be treated in order to remove a small cancer from the gland. Recently, new technologies have become available which can treat just the cancer, rather than the entire prostate. What are these focal treatments?
