In my recent adventure, I spent 2 days and 1 night in Coron, Palawan, where I had the unique opportunity to witness a fish trading activity in Barangay Concepcion, Busuanga. This charming barangay is just a 40-minute motorcycle ride from Coron town, making it an accessible destination for those looking to explore local culture.
During my visit, I observed the bustling fish trading business where local fishermen sell their fresh catches directly. The market featured impressive varieties of fish, including Maya Maya (red snapper), big Lapu (grouper), and Talakitok (trevally), along with other seafood. It was fascinating to see how these catches are prepared for shipment to Metro Manila, where they command high prices due to demand.
This experience provided valuable insight into the seafood supply chain and highlighted why seafood prices in Manila can be so steep. Understanding the factors contributing to these costs made me appreciate the hard work of local fishermen and the importance of sustainable fishing practices in supporting both local economies and urban markets.
Join me as we dive into this eye-opening experience and explore the vibrant fishing culture of Palawan! Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more travel adventures!
