WHEN IS BACKWASHING NECESSARY TO DO? YOU SHOULD GO FOR IT AFTER EVERY STORM OR SITUATION THAT MIGHT CLOUD THE WATER. YOU CAN ALSO TELL THE NECESSITY FOR BACKWASHING IF THE PUMP GAUGE READS 8 TO 10 PPI. OTHERWISE, THIS IS A PROCEDURE THAT HAS TO BE PART OF YOUR WEEKLY POOL MAINTENANCE.
How to Backwash My Pool Filter?
Turn off the filter system.
Connect the backwash hose to the filter's waste port.
How Do I Backwash My Pool Filter with a Multiport Valve?
Turn the valve to "Backwash."
Turn the filter system back on and let it run for about two minutes.
Turn the system off, switch the valve to "Rinse," and run for a minute.
Turn the system off again and restore the valve to "Filter."
