ASI Jaspinder Singh Bajwa breaks 33-year record at 55; Aims for gold at world championship

From Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, ASI Jaspinder Singh Bajwa, serving as a hurdles coach at Jalandhar’s PAP, has created history by breaking a 33-year-old record at the age of 55. Bajwa’s story is one of relentless struggle, passion, and perseverance. Originally from Alda village, he has achieved what many young athletes can only dream of.

At this stage in life, breaking a record once held by a Sri Lankan athlete showcases his unwavering determination and outstanding fitness. Now, Bajwa trains both young and senior athletes at PAP and continues to motivate others through his example. Among his trainees is a 35-year-old female athlete who shows great promise for the future.

Bajwa’s next goal is to bring home a gold medal at the World Championship.
