The Washington Commanders are officially coming back to the District.
By an 11–2 vote, the D.C. Council approved a $3.7 billion deal with the team to build a new 65,000-seat stadium at the RFK site. The agreement includes $2.7 billion from the Commanders and about $1 billion from D.C.
The stadium is expected to open in 2030 — just as the team’s lease in Landover expires.
