Srirangapatna is famous for Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu in a reclining posture.
This is Adi-Ranga temple i.e, one of the three-Ranga temples.
We also covered Nimishamba temple, 7km from this temple.
Srirangapatna was also the site of the last battle of the fourth Anglo-Mysore War in 1799.
The Paschima Vaahini section of Kaveri at Srirangapatna is considered sacred. The entire town is enclosed by the river Kaveri to form a river island.
