What started as a simple chai craving became one of the most peaceful and scenic drives we've done this season — from Navi Mumbai to the last village of Panvel, tucked away at the foothills of Matheran. The hills were wrapped in clouds, the rivers overflowing, and the roads shimmering under the monsoon rain — this one’s a treat for every weekend wanderer!

☕ From Chai Break to Adventure
You know those moments when you just need a break? That’s how this drive began. I stepped out for a quick chai, called my friend on a whim… and within minutes, we were on the road, chasing rain clouds. Sometimes, the best stories happen without a plan.

Started from Navi Mumbai

Drove ~30 km through lush green hills towards the foothills of Matheran

Enjoyed the peaceful drive with rain hitting the windshield and music setting the vibe

🍃 Monsoon Magic in the Hills
The weather was pure cinematic bliss — mist rolling over the hills, puddles along the winding ghats, and the sound of waterfalls echoing through the valley.
We stumbled on a perfect hidden spot — a small bridge overlooking the river — where we parked, relaxed, and just breathed in the fresh mountain air.

And yes, nothing beats the taste of Vada Pav and cutting chai when raindrops keep dancing around you.

🚙 The Drive Experience
This trip wasn’t about the destination — it was about the vibe.
My companion for the day was my Maruti Brezza Facelift (2022) — powered by the K15C 1.5L NA Petrol engine with a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.
Smooth, refined, and steady even through the winding wet roads — proof that a peaceful drive doesn’t need fancy roads or plans, just the right mood.

We also made a quick stop near Gadeshwar Dam, a stunning reservoir surrounded by dense green hills and serene water views. The dam was overflowing thanks to the heavy rains, making the entire landscape feel like a slice of heaven. It’s one of those peaceful offbeat places near Matheran where you can just sit, watch the clouds drift, and enjoy the sound of nature. Shooting clips here felt surreal — a blend of calm water reflections and roaring rain. It’s a spot every monsoon lover should visit at least once!
