Conventional Flotation VS MACH REACTOR Flotation
Curious about how the flotation process is enhanced within the MACH REACTOR?
The majority of the losses in PGM plant flotation tailings in South Africa lie in the minus 25-micron fraction.
Valuable fines are sometimes lost to flotation tailings owing to the low mass and inertia of these particles, causing them to become entrapped in the streamlines around the bubbles. This results in a lack of collision and attachment taking place.
When this material is subjected to MACH preconditioning ahead of conventional flotation, small pico-bubbles are created on the surfaces of the valuable fines as they pass through the cavitation venturis within the MACH.
These pico-bubble attached valuable fines then cluster together to form a pseudo-optimum-sized particle for flotation to enable collision and attachment to flotation-sized bubbles.
