Footage of the Railway Preservation Society's 'Great North Getaway' railtour which ran x2 between Drogheda and Skerries on Sunday the 10th of August.
First of all, at Gormanston Airfield, near Mosney:
Several ships out to sea and some seagulls flying past (0:01).
Former D&SER K2 Class No. 461 passes with the return leg of the first Skerries - Drogheda shuttle (0:17).
Only a few minutes later, 3000 Class No. 3004 makes a surprise appearance on a Connolly - Belfast Central charter (1:55).
Later on at McGrath's Lane, beside Drogheda station:
The railcar depot, which is looking pretty deserted, with just 29402 and another 29000 in the shed (3:13).
071 Class No. 082 stabled on the Navan branch with a rake of empty Tara wagons. These will run back to the Tara Mines early on Monday morning (3:24).
The Cravens at Platform 1 at Drogheda (3:38).
201 Class No. 227 on the 13:00 ex Connolly Enterprise service (3:43).
461 appears and runs around the Cravens (6:36).
461 then reverses onto the Navan branch to have its firebox cleaned (7:23) & (8:56).
A large crowd assembles on Platform 1 to watch 461 be coupled up to the Cravens. Many townspeople came out to see the train in addition to those travelling on the railtour, which was great to see:D (9:25).
461 comes off the Navan branch and reverses back to the Cravens (9:43).
Then, finally, 461 makes a dramatic exit from Drogheda and sets out towards Skerries, 13 miles down the line (10:19).
Thanks a million for watching, I hope you enjoy:D
