I was happy that I was spot on my prediction that it would take me about 6 months to complete, based on how long it took me to complete smaller puzzles; this was completed from October to April, which was perfect since this was over all of the cold months.
I tried to focus on individual sections of the puzzle, but I ended up jumping all over the place throughout, as I would get frustrated at the lack of progress on one section and would move onto other places.
The puzzle came in two separate bags and the recommendation is to work the puzzle in two 4500 piece sections and put them together at the end, but I wanted to work a 9000 piece puzzle and not two smaller ones, so I dumped both bags together at the beginning. This did add an extreme level of difficulty to the project and no doubt added significant time to the entire puzzle, but after completing it all, I'm happy I did. Since there were so many pieces to sort through, it took me two months to even finish the border.
Funny stat, this puzzle is actually 9120 piece, not just 9000 as the box advertises.
I'm extremely impressed that after 6 months, having a 2 1/2 to 3 year old 'helping' with the puzzle, using the table for wrapping Christmas gifts, and having other people and kids in the room throughout the duration, not a single piece was lost!
I did have to go buy a couple of boards for my tabletop, as my table wasn't big enough and my old 4'x4' boards I bought for my 6000 piece puzzles weren't big enough for this one.
Final dimensions: 6.0 ft x 4.5 ft (1.92 m x 1.39 m)
Total completion time: 6 months, Oct 13, 2018 to April 28, 2019
Total clips to stitched together: 187
Total pieces: 9120
Total piece lost: 0
