Twisted Pendant Tutorial – Part Two | Making the Bail

Welcome back to the bench for Part Two of this twisted pendant build.
In this video, we move beyond structure and into design-heavy wirework, transforming the bail from a simple functional element into a major visual feature of the pendant.

This stage is where the pendant really becomes Lonely Soldier — layered figure-of-eight weaving, wires being added and removed, hammered twisted wire strapped through the centre, and controlled chaos brought back into order.
It’s slower, more involved work, and definitely a step up from the basics — but with patience and practice, it’s incredibly rewarding.

This is not about perfection on the first attempt. It’s about learning how to handle complex weaving, recover when things shift, and start developing your own patterns and problem-solving instincts.
This is where technique meets creativity and the bail becomes the canvas.

Tools & Materials Used

• Chain-nose pliers
• Flat-nose pliers
• Flush cutters
• Tweezers (fine point recommended)
• Metal ruler
• Bail pliers with 6 mm mandrel
(or a pen/pencil of similar size)
• Files (for tidying trimmed wire)

Wire:
– 28g (0.32 mm) weaving wire
– Leftover twisted wire from Part One
