What started as a lengthy and hotly contested race for mayor in Jersey City between seven candidates has now turned into a runoff between the top two finishers on Election Day -- Jersey City Councilman James Solomon and former Gov. Jim McGreevey.
Solomon ended in with 29% of the vote on Election Day and McGreevey with 25%. Neither broke the 50% threshold needling to declare a winner, so they’re battling it out in the runoff.
