This hauntingly beautiful Adagio sostenuto is the first movement of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 27 No. 2 — more famously known as the Moonlight Sonata. Written in 1801 and dedicated to his student Countess Giulietta Guicciardi, the piece has captivated listeners for generations with its stillness, introspection, and quiet intensity.
In this performance, I’ve aimed to let the music speak for itself — spacious, unhurried, and filled with the emotional depth that makes this movement so timeless.
