The National Programme Coordinator, UWEP|YLP Ms. Winfred Mastiko, gave a press conference at the Uganda Media Centre. In her statement, she highlighted the great impact the programme has made on Women and Youth of Uganda.
To date, 139,837,035,061 billion has been disbursed to 21,509 Women Projects benefiting 231,895 individual women. Of the funds disbursed Shs. 67,619,209,862 is due for recovery.
On the other hand, YLP has disbursed Shs 190,602,903,318 billion financing a total 24,115 youth projects benefiting 270,376 youth (46% of whom are female).
Of the funds disbursed Shs. 169,414,124,329 is due for recovery where Shs. 41,237,708,912 has been recovered.
Ms. Winfred also called upon Local governments which have not yet submitted the women and youth beneficiary files to forward them now and avoid last minute submissions. The files are For FY 2024/2025 for which there is still money yet to be disbursed.
