“Asia is grappling with serious aging problems, making it crucial for architects to design spaces tailored for the elderly and children. This project smartly integrates traditional Chinese aesthetics, like the concept of a walled city, to offer a sense of protection and security. What’s particularly impressive is the subtlety in design – many architects tend to overdesign to stand out, but here, the simplicity creates a more relaxed, comfortable environment.

The balance of materials and thoughtful incorporation of cultural elements, such as traditional Chinese decorative motifs, makes this project a model for wellness retreats. It stands as an example of how architects in Asia can design spaces with humility while maintaining functionality and comfort.
