Here is the next part of my ongoing series on how to use and play Joe Morello's Master Studies Books. In this lesson I begin exploring book two.
This is quite a different book than the first volume. It expands on the fill-in concept that was introduced in book one to a much greater degree. These exercises work well with particular chapters of the first book as supplemental material.
In this video I demonstrate the warm up exercises as well as the 8th note and triplet combination section. I have already filmed two more parts for this series so look for those in the future.
If you want to follow along you will need to have the book since copyright laws prevent me from posting any of the music on the screen. You should have it anyway if you are serious about the instrument and your technique.
The Pad I am using is a Quiet Tone Drum Mute from the 1990's.
