Buying chinese knockoff clones has its downsides. Sometimes they are made with whatever scrap components they had at hand. This happened to a large batch of arduino nanos I bought lately. With the 1K resistor that should between D0/D1 and the CH340 was replaced with a 0ohm or 150 ohm or 850 ohm resistors. This makes using these pins as inputs and outputs not reliable. So here is a way to fix it.
PROTIP: After I did this video I wanted to both remove the LEDs to remove some light from inside my modular, and also fix this problem. The two resistors on top next to RX and TX LEDs are actually 102 (1K), solder these away and put them on the bottom side instead of the two faulty ones there, and you have solved two problems (if you want less LEDs aswell).
