Civic Type R FK8 RSS Stage 1 Remap, Eventuri Intake & HKS Intercooler Upgrade [+70HP & +54lbfts]

After coming in in 2020 for a fast-road/light track day brake upgrade, this customer came in to increase the output of his Civic Type R FK8 for faster acceleration and faster speeds on the track.

He opted for the Eventuri Carbon Fibre Intake and HKS Intercooler, all brought together with the RSS Stage 1 Custom ECU Software.

The Eventuri Intake replaces the factory intake airbox and hose, using their patented Eventuri intake design to increase the speed of the air flowing through the system and uses carbon fibre to isolate this air from the engine bay heat, minimising IATs.

After that fresh air passes through the intake, it goes into the turbo where it is compressed. Compressed air heats up and this is the enemy of engine output. The stock intercooler can see charge temps as high as 90C! The cooler the air, the denser and richer in oxygen as well as being more knock resistant, allowing for more fuel to be burned, more ignition timing and boost.

The customer opted for the HKS intercooler which increases the surface area by as much as 200%, helping to keep charge temps much cooler than the stock intercooler. As the charge temp is consistently cooler, the ECU can run the engine in the higher output maps for longer.

The RSS Stage 1 Custom ECU software is installed to optimise the engine for use with the upgrades and unlock hidden power and torque potential from the engine through optimising the fuelling, ignition, boost and many other maps inside the ECU.
