A picturesque city in Flanders, the northern part of Belgium, the Historic Centre of Bruges (Brugge) has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Once Europe's richest city, now both cosmopolitan and bourgeois in its compact size, it is one of the best preserved historical cities in Europe.
We take time to wander the cobblestone paths and pedestrian areas of the medieval center, along the canals that lead to the Gothic and neo-Gothic buildings that make up this amazing city. Once a bustling metropolis of trade, this area was also a hub of the Flemish Primitive style of painting.
