LotR: I Remade Tolkien's warriors from the Second Age and Angmar Wars

Overview of some digital illustrations and sketches I made inspired by Tolkien's world of Middle-earth a few years back. The illustrations depict characters from the Second Age and the Angmar Wars.

Of course, Alan Lee's illustrations were a big inspiration for the character designs - not technically or artistically (drawings and watercolors), but visually, because I believe that Tolkien's world and therefore the weapons and armor is set in the early Middle Ages. And so at that time we often see soldiers in chain mail. Orcs are often depicted in crude plate armor. So it's mixed a little anachronistically.

Another inspiration was my favorite strategy game Lord of The Rings: Battle for Middle-earth, Rise of the Witch-king. (pretty long title, right?)

PS: I'm currently reading The Fall of Númenor, so maybe we'll see some new illustrations. :)
