In this video I am going to open your mind to an interesting way of thinking about harmony, not in terms of scale degrees or chord progressions, but rather in terms of the motion of notes. This can really lead to advanced sounding chords and progressions with a "modal" or jazz feel to them. Specifically, we'll focus on chromatic motion, although the ideas I put forward here are quite general. We'll start out with a particular demonstration of a jazz fusion type of piece and break it down, and then go into discussing theory and giving more examples. These ideas really made think in new ways when I first saw them, and I hope you will benefit similarly. Enjoy!
