The Geography Department of Sikkim Alpine University (SAU), inaugurates it's first ever 'Geographical Society', with executives formed of the MA/MSc students from first year Geography Department. The theme of the SAU Geographical Society is, 'exploring nature, people, and society'.
Today's inauguration programme highlighted an oath taking ceremony of the newly elected executive members and class representatives.
The ten executive members and four representatives of classes, underwent a democratic election procedure, prior to the inauguration today. And the Society will be led and handled by them in participation of all the students from Geography Department.
The Society will look after the four main events this year; plantation drive, classroom maintenence, sports event, and seminar/workshop with guest teachers. The each of these events will be held on the month of June, July, August and September, respectively, as planned by the members, and the board of advisors.
