Filmed at Olympia in London, various scenes from a circus.
Woman in ballet points does a high kick routine in the centre of the circus ring. Her dance includes some Cossack style dancing. Intertitle reads: "Some lasses from Lancashire - Alfred Jackson's Dancers - " Long line of chorus girls perform a high kick routine. A camera dissolve is used during their extract. They wear shorts, vests and headbands. We then see them do another routine dressed as some sort of guardsmen. The dance is a kind of exaggerated marching dance. Adele Nelson is featured with her "comical, clever elephants." Three elephants dance on podiums while Adele wields the whip. The elephants turn around on their small podiums and wiggle their backsides at the audience. They then walk around in a circle with their back legs on the podiums and their front legs on the ground.
Adele dances in the middle of the ring whilst the elephants walk around the ring. One of the elephants does a little jiggle. Adele rides on the back of one of the elephants as that elephant rids on the back of another. Adele is launched from one end of a seesaw by an elephant standing on the other end (this is pretty amazing! She flies right up in the air and lands on the back of the elephant then slides off - pretty bizarre and painful by the looks of it!) The elephants run around the outside of the ring, one of them carries Adele in its trunk. She pretends to be in distress. Adele does some cartwheels and the elephants "laugh."
Was originally an item in Eve's Film Review issue number 449.
