On 19th November 2025, Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji graced the Vidyaranya Institute of Knowledge and Advanced Studies (VIKAS), formerly the JNU Institute of Advanced Studies, located on the JNU campus in New Delhi.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, along with the management, faculty, and students, offered a reverential welcome to Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya.

In February 2024, at the request of JNU, the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, graciously provided and installed a beautiful murti of Sri Vidyaranya Mahaswamiji, the 12th Jagadguru of Sringeri - a towering statesman-sage, a tapasvi of the highest order, an unparalleled scholar, and the illustrious Raja Guru whose wisdom and strategic brilliance were instrumental in the founding of the Vijayanagara Empire on the campus. The Mahaswamiji's role in shaping the political, cultural, and spiritual renaissance of that era places him among the greatest figures in Indian history.

Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam spoke about Advaita in relatable terms, explaining how our experience of duality persists only as long as we remain unaware of the Truth.

“A dream feels real only as long as we remain in the state of dreaming. The moment we wake up, we instantly recognise that it was never real.”
In the same way, duality appears real only until we awaken to the knowledge of the Self. When true understanding dawns, the illusion of separateness dissolves - just as the dream dissolves upon waking.
Jagadguru further stressed that knowledge alone is not enough; it must be supported by samskara - right conduct, right values, and a life lived in alignment with Dharma.

The special Vajrotsava Bharati Edition of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya’s Brahma Sutra Bhashya and Srimad Bhagavad Gita Bhashya was blessed by Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam for inclusion in the University’s library.
