LIVE: White House gives status update of Kilmar Abrego Garcia amid Trump’s deportations plans

Watch live coverage as White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt holds a press briefing after President Donald Trump’s top advisers and Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, said Monday that they have no basis for the small Central American nation to return a Maryland man who was wrongly deported there last month. The Supreme Court last week ordered the Trump administration to “facilitate” the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from custody, but both President Trump and Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele maintain they don’t have the authority to do so.
