The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most diverse places in the entire world. When it comes to Asian communities, the Bay Area is known for San Francisco's Chinatown & Japantown, Oakland's Chinatown, and San Jose's Japantown. Recently I've even discovered the existence of what was once a prominent Chinatown in Salinas, though it has became a homeless encampment.
Aside from Chinatowns and Japantowns, did you know there's a "Vietnam Town" as well?? As a self-proclaimed Asia Town Enthusiast, I just had to see for myself!!!

After the Vietnam War ended in 1975, many Vietnamese from the south fled to the US escaping political persecution and seeking better economic possibilities. The US government initially tried to disperse the Vietnamese all over the US, but the most Vietnamese eventually found their way to Texas and California. Here in California, there are 2 main Vietnamese communities, one in Westminster (Orange County), and the other one being in San Jose. San Jose now has the largest population of Vietnamese outside of Vietnam!
The area that I visited in this VLOG is in the Little Saigon area of San Jose. This is NOT the only Vietnamese community in San Jose, but the area I visited intrigued me simply because of the name "Vietnam Town".
As the Vietnam Town sign claims, it's the largest Vietnamese Plaza in California. I wonder where the largest Vietnamese Plaza in the US is?
