From a brutal 42.2km run in the Honde Valley Marathon to exploring the beauty of Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands — this trip had everything.
We travelled from Harare, made the traditional Surrey stop in Marondera, and headed straight into the mountains for the race.
After the marathon, Countryside Adventures organised a short tour for us around Nyanga and Mutarazi Falls. The tour ended up being cut short, but we still got to experience the Mutarazi Falls viewpoint — the tallest waterfall in Zimbabwe and the second-tallest in Africa at 772m.
We walked the 800m trail from Nyanga National Park to the falls, checked out the Skywalk and Zipline platforms (didn’t do the activities this time), and later stopped at the famous Nyanga Fish Deli where I tried their burger, chips, and pies — highly recommended!
Transport was provided by CAG Buses, offering luxury travel across Zimbabwe and connecting major destinations. Smooth ride to and from Harare.
Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands never disappoint — even with limited time. Will definitely return to explore more.
