Bharat Progress Report 2025 | World-Class Infrastructure, Rail, Roads, Airports & 5G Expansion

In the BPR 2025 Infrastructure category, India’s physical and digital connectivity reached world-class standards. Massive projects were completed, including the inauguration of the world’s highest railway arch bridge—the Chenab Rail Bridge—and Navi Mumbai International Airport, the country's largest greenfield airport. The rail network saw 99.2% electrification and the operation of 164 Vande Bharat Express trains. On the digital front, 5G subscribers reached 394 million, covering 99% of districts, and the National Broadband Mission 2.0 was launched to reach remote areas. Road construction also accelerated, with 29 km of new roads built daily and the operationalisation of 756 km of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
