The band Malcolm Young hated With Passion.
Malcolm Young, an Australian guitarist, is best known as a founding member, rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist, and co-songwriter for the iconic hard rock band AC/DC. He had been with the band since he founded it in November 1973. Though his younger brother Angus Young is more visible, Malcolm has often been described as the business and brains behind AC/DC.
What was Malcolm Young’s opinion of Nirvana?
Malcolm Young shared a similar hostility toward Nirvana. In 1992, following Nirvana’s breakthrough success with their album Nevermind, Young expressed his thoughts in an interview with Metal CD. When asked about the state of contemporary rock, he revealed that he had “seen a few of them bands on MTV,” followed by a pause. He then added, “Well, my daughter listens to that band,” revealing that the band was Nirvana. When asked if he was a fan of Kurt Cobain’s group, Malcolm bluntly replied, “Naaaaah. Singer’s a blond feller. Bit of a poser.”
