In this video, I show you the making of the artist brush rings from reclaimed, laurel timber and bristle material. I use a rotary tool with a range of carving and sanding bits such as course and fine kutzal burrs, cutting disc, sanding flap wheel, and sanding barrels.
This was a fun project that’s part of the tweed Valley woodcrafters membership competition for 2025. All members who wanted to participate with given a piece of camp laurel and allowed to make anything we wished with that as the primary timber. I obviously introduced other materials bamboo, raffia and nylon bristles to complete the brush rings.
