Grand Rapids has an awesome and large downtown area full of stores, offices, restaurants, and hotels. Plenty of things to do downtown. The drive starts on I-196 to U.S. 131 at Pearl Street. Then downtown and east on Fulton St to East Grand Rapids and the Woodland Mall area and 28th Street.

Grand Rapids was the childhood home of U.S. President Gerald Ford, who is buried with his wife Betty on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in the city. The city's Gerald R. Ford International Airport and Gerald R. Ford Freeway are named after him.
