SurgeXT (https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/) is a free hybrid synthesizer plugin that is just as powerful and useful as many of the expensive soft synths on the market. The one downside is the interface and signal flow isn't instantly intuitive. This is a quick start guide to help get music producers and sound designers up and running with SurgeXT. Once you get a feel for the layout of the synth you'll have no problem tweaking existing presets or creating entirely new sounds from scratch.
