Nirvana didn't write this and was for sure not the first to cover it, but it's the version I would have grown up listening to and based this cover off. This was my favorite song from the Unplugged album!!

Leadbelly recorded a version of the song years ago, that I believe Nirvana based there live cover off, but even Leadbelly didn't write the original song.
