A massive data leak at South Korea's largest online retail platform Coupang has left vulnerable the personal information of some 34 million South Koreans.
Today we start with this disturbing reality and for details on it I have Camille Ruiz with French broadcaster Radio France Internationale.

I also have writer Colin Marshall with the pundit's take on the day's topics.

1) Camille, let's begin with details of the massive data breach at South Korea's largest online retail platform Coupang.
How did the leak occur, how many have been affected, how is the investigation proceeding, and how are those affected responding?


2) Colin, the leak at Coupang is the latest in a series of similar incidents at telecom and credit card companies here in South Korea.
What can you tell us about public concern over digital security amid these rampant data breaches?


3) Camille, one tech news website claims South Korea has seen a breach almost every month this year raising much doubt over its digital defense.
How does this reality compare to that of its global partners?
I mean, how frequent are such occurrences overseas?


4) Colin, with regard to Coupang, despite the extent of its data leak, pundits believe the company will witness limited losses.
Do explain this reality for us.


5) Camille, President Lee Jae Myung, for his part, has called for tougher penalties against those who fail to protect customer data, while Coupang has pledged to prevent such incidents from recurring.
I wonder, what are some of the response measures that you will be keeping your eyes on?

South Korea ranked sixth in the 2025 world power survey conducted by US News & World Report.
Do tell us more about this ranking, its reasons, and how does it compare to that of its global counterparts ?


8) Colin, findings show Korea scored high in categories like entrepreneurship and cultural influence, but low in openness for business, adventure and social purpose.
How do you interpret these findings?
