Shhh! by 616 games is a Don't Scream inspired horror game where the player must keep their voice below a certain level or the game will detect it and automatically kill them. The challenge of Shhh is to simply survive for 20 min. without letting the game's jumpscare's cause you to scream. Although Shhh by 616 is a direct derivative of Don't Scream, I would say the Shhh is slightly better. The positives of this game lie in the quality of the jumpscares where the entities actually feel like they are part of the game rather than in Don't Scream where the jumpscares feel more disconnected from the gameplay. My biggest issue with these types of games is that they are designed for basic microphones directly plugged into the pc. Where anyone with filters or a condenser will struggle greatly to find a sweet spot in the settings since a condenser makes your loudest sounds and your quietest sounds the same decibel level. Other than that, I had a good time playing Shhh!.
