Hey guys, new guest on the channel today, my friend Guillaume Latil ! He plays in the Andre Manoukian 4tet, but he also has a solo concert, and plays in the Cuareim Quartet, don't hesitate to check his music out.
Playing jazz is not so common on cello, but it's a lot of fun. We've enjoyed jamming over the past few years, and noticed with that session that as he can either play walking bass, or play la pompe, the duet formula works pretty good ! We've decided to play the standard "I love you" from 1923, composed by Harry Archer (totally different tune than the Cole Porter tune with the same name).
I'm playing a 1942 D'Angelico Excel, strung with nickel strings gauge 13. The sound is captured by both a Neumann TLM 103 and a bluebird.
