I had an longer look at the original Metroid’s title screen recently, and I found myself liking the contrast between the harsh, barren, rocky ground and the endless, dark, starry sky. That’s not a location I’ve seen in any Metroid games since (Excluding Zero Mission’s title screen), and I thought it would be fun to pay homage to it in a short animation.
This also gave me a chance to play around with a power suit design that imitates Samus’ color scheme and design from the original.
