It's been YEARS since I last fished overnight and tried to catch a big carp from a beautiful old lake - and lakes don't come much more beautiful than Red Beeches fishery in Surrey, which nestles in a secluded valley and feels almost cut off from the modern world.
Red Beeches even has its own island where you can set up camp and get away from it all for a few days, immerse yourself in nature and try to outwit the stunning carp which call this special place their home. There's even a fire pit, and a small hut where you can keep some of your food and kit.
I spent a magical few days and nights on this private island... Savouring the peace, enjoying the wildlife and - yes - catching a fish I'll never forget!
