Learning the notes on the fretboard is one of the most useful things you can practice! If you are experiencing slowness changing from Open Chords to Barre Chords, most likely you are spending too much time THINKING where to form the barre!
This exercise is not hard. Do these three 2-minute drills for a week or 2 and you will learn them permanently! It will be an instant recall!
And when I say 'learn' I mean 'effortless recall'. You just know there they are without thinking, period.
1: This is not a magic pattern technique this just actually works.
You SAY & PLAY it forwards, You SAY & PLAY it in reverse in Major scale order. Then you SAY & PLAY it by 4ths; then you SAY & PLAY it by 5ths.
2 minutes each. DONE. Remembered FOREVER
