“Pearl Fisherman” or “Pearl Hunter” is a musical tableau composed by Mohamed Elfakahany, newly re-orchestrated for full orchestra in 2025.
This piece expresses the life and craft of the traditional Kuwaiti diver—the pearl hunter—who once descended into the depths of the Arabian Gulf to retrieve natural pearls, selling them to earn his livelihood. It was one of the toughest professions of its time, requiring exceptional skill, patience, and endurance.
Elfakahany originally presented “Pearl Hunter” in its first design for the Eastern Orchestra during his stay in Kuwait, performing it more than three times at National Day celebrations between 2011 and 2017, in the presence of ministers, ambassadors, and distinguished public figures. #mohamed_elfakahany #music #piano #orchestra #violin #song #jazz #indian #fypage #fyp
