Agroecological Business Model: 👉 Boosting Productivity Through Circularity

An agripreneur from Malawi shows his business model and agricultural venture Nathawi Farms, its circular economy as well as ecologically beneficial practices and products like bio-char.

Due to a lack of employment prospects, the 30-year-old Clement Taonani decided to set up
Nathawi Farms in 2020. It turned into a thriving agricultural business and an important contact point for young people seeking employment in his region.

A start-up acceleration programme organized by GIZ, EYA! ATVET supported him on his way: "I am now self-employed and have also created jobs for other young people"

Agroecology and employment promotion can go hand in hand to drive an ecological, economic and social transformation of Sub-Saharan Africa's agricultural systems while tackling unemployment.
