This video is from the 1st of July, 2024 - from climbing Mentok Kangri 1, 6150m (false summit) as part of a recce run for TMNA (The Monk Ninja Adventures).
The Mentok range lies opposite the Tso Moriri and consists of Mentok 1, 2 and 3 at altitudes of above 6100m. It is a semi-technical climb where crampons and ice axes are required to tackle the ice wall. The base camp lies around ~5250m and there is a gain of around 1000m during the summit attempt making it one of the more challenging peaks in Ladakh.
The views are stunning as we get to see the Tso Moriri and Lungsher / Chamser peaks glow during a sunrise and sunset.
