Norway Campervan Adventures - Day 2 - Vlog - Sajid Chougle and Cousins

Welcome to the Part-2 of my 4 part series of Norway Campervan Adventure along with my cousin and his kids. This vlog will showcase:

If there’s one country where you must experience Campervan style travel, my top pick would be Norway. It offers everything for people to travel to and immerse themselves in nature.

And so early this year my cousin Atif Parkar decided to tag along with me to Norway with his kids – Ahmed and Abdallah for a fun summer adventure. Atif met his kids in the UK and they flew down to Oslo. We met at the Touring Cars Motorhome Rental office in Jessheim and started our journey there. A very big thanks to Niton Valve Industries for gifting Atif and his kids this wonderful experience. Atif was the primary driver and I was the backup, but Atif loved it so much that I never had to jump at the steering wheel. We had a spacious enough Campervan that could easily accommodate 4 adults.

You can select various models depending on your usage and number of people.

Tips:
In Norway you can access toilets and showers at many gas stations easily, so you don’t really need to use the one in your van. You can always plan a dip in a river or lake, just make sure that they are NOT reservoirs or water bodies used for drinking water.

Fun Fact:
You don’t really need an IDP if you carry the Indian Chip License, considering it’s in English. I’d still suggest that you check with the individual rental company prior to renting.

Route Planning:
We had the Campervan from the 3rd of July till the 6th of July, so that gave us 4 days. The itinerary we planned is as follows:

3 July 2025: Collect the Campervan and drive to Geriranger (appx 400km)
Camp at Vinje Camping
4 July 2025: Kayak in the Geiranger Fjord (We went to Geiranger Kayak Center)
Take the Fjord Car Ferry towards Hellesylt
Drive towards Runde, camp at Rorbuda, Herøy Kystcamp
5 July 2025: Hike the Isles of Runde
Drive to Åndalsnes and camp at Soggebru Camping
6 July 2025: Drive back to Jessheim, drop the Campervan
Do a tour of Oslo
Atif and kids fly back to the UK

अगर कोई एक देश है जहाँ आपको कैंपरवैन शैली की यात्रा का अनुभव करना है, तो मेरी पहली पसंद नॉर्वे होगा। यह लोगों को यात्रा करने और प्रकृति में डूबने के लिए हर संभव अवसर प्रदान करता है।

और इस साल की शुरुआत में ही मेरे चचेरे भाई आतिफ पारकर ने अपने बच्चों - अहमद और अब्दुल्ला - के साथ एक मज़ेदार ग्रीष्मकालीन साहसिक कार्य के लिए मेरे साथ नॉर्वे जाने का फैसला किया। आतिफ अपने बच्चों से यूके में मिले और वे ओस्लो के लिए उड़ान भरी। हम जेसहेम स्थित टूरिंग कार्स मोटरहोम रेंटल ऑफिस में मिले और वहीं से अपनी यात्रा शुरू की। आतिफ और उनके बच्चों को यह शानदार अनुभव देने के लिए निटन वाल्व इंडस्ट्रीज का बहुत-बहुत धन्यवाद। आतिफ मुख्य ड्राइवर थे और मैं बैकअप था, लेकिन आतिफ को यह इतना पसंद आया कि मुझे स्टीयरिंग व्हील पर कूदने की ज़रूरत ही नहीं पड़ी। हमारे पास एक इतनी बड़ी कैंपरवैन थी जिसमें आसानी से 4 वयस्क बैठ सकते थे।

आप अपनी ज़रूरत और लोगों की संख्या के हिसाब से कई मॉडल चुन सकते हैं।

सुझाव:
नॉर्वे में, कई पेट्रोल पंपों पर आपको शौचालय और शॉवर आसानी से मिल जाते हैं, इसलिए आपको अपनी वैन में ही शौचालय और शॉवर इस्तेमाल करने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। आप किसी नदी या झील में डुबकी लगाने की योजना बना सकते हैं, बस ध्यान रखें कि वे जलाशय या पीने के पानी के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाले जलाशय न हों।

मज़ेदार तथ्य:
अगर आपके पास इंडियन चिप लाइसेंस है, तो आपको आईडीपी की ज़रूरत नहीं है, क्योंकि यह अंग्रेज़ी में है। फिर भी, मेरा सुझाव है कि आप किराए पर लेने से पहले संबंधित रेंटल कंपनी से ज़रूर पूछ लें।

रूट प्लानिंग:
हमारे पास कैंपरवैन 3 जुलाई से 6 जुलाई तक थी, इसलिए हमारे पास 4 दिन थे। हमने जो यात्रा कार्यक्रम तय किया है वह इस प्रकार है:

3 जुलाई 2025: कैंपर वैन लें और गेरिंगर (लगभग 400 किमी) तक ड्राइव करें
विंजे कैंपिंग में कैंप करें
4 जुलाई 2025: गेरिंगर फ्योर्ड में कयाकिंग करें (हम गेरिंगर कयाक सेंटर गए थे)
हेलेसिल्ट की ओर फ्योर्ड कार फ़ेरी लें
रुंडे की ओर ड्राइव करें, रोरबुडा, हेरोय किस्टकैंप में कैंप करें
5 जुलाई 2025: रुंडे द्वीप समूह की पैदल यात्रा करें
आंडल्सनेस तक ड्राइव करें और सोगेब्रु कैंपिंग में कैंप करें
6 जुलाई 2025: जेसहेम वापस ड्राइव करें, कैंपर वैन छोड़ें
ओस्लो की सैर करें
आतिफ और बच्चे यूके वापस उड़ान भरेंगे
