This also covers the 3 main causes of Compression that is deformation, relocation of soil particles and expulsion of water & air from voids of the Soil Structure as well discusses along with about the immediate settlement of non-cohesive coarse grained granular sandy soils and consolidation settlement of cohesive fine-grained clayey soils.
