Bienvenue dans le Carbonifère houiller du Pas-de-Calais, où les grès et pélites charbonneuses dévoilent de fantastiques plantes fossiles ayant vécus 315 millions d'années avant notre ère. Au programme: fougère arborescente Pecopteris, ptéridospermes (seed fern) médullosales arborescentes (Alethopteris) et lianescentes (Mariopteris), écorces de Lycopodes géantes (Lépidophytes): Lepidodendron et Sigillaria, Calamites et intéractions plantes-arthropodes.
À travers le prisme des roches fossilifères du terril d'Avion, je vous propose de découvrir ce qu'était l'écosystème tropicale humide et marécageux qui perdurait au Paléozoïque supérieur.
