Julie Harris wins the Oscar for Costume Design (Black-and-White) for Darling (accepted by Elke Sommer and Connie Stevens) and Phyllis Dalton wins the Oscar for Costume Design (Color) for Doctor Zhivago (accepted by Kathryn Grayson) at the 38th Academy Awards. Lana Turner and James Garner present the award. Hosted by Bob Hope.
