KAWAZU ZAKURA CHERRY BLOSSOM 2024 Sakura Beer & Saphir Odoriko Train by ADEYTO

One of the most beloved areas to observe the cherry blossoms in Japan is the city of Kawazu in the south of Shimoda peninsula Shizuoka prefecture. We took a luxurious Express train SAPHIR ODORIKO that gets there very fast and direct from Tokyo Station leaving at 11:00 in the morning and arriving at 1:18 PM.

however if you want to have this beautiful flowers to yourself you better stay there overnight and walk around very early morning when the tourists are not there yet. If you go by car it is very crowded and might have a hard time to find the parking spot and to not be caught in the traffic congestion.
in the sense it's a great idea to come with this train however it is quite pricey, more expensive than the shinkansen all the way to Kyoto if you take the private luxury car like we did.
the cherry trees that are blooming here have a very special deep pink color that originated in this area and is also named after this city, Kawazu-Zakura. I actually have one and it is the first to bloom even in my garden. The birds love to come and drink the nectar.
The long river has these cherry trees on both Banks and you can keep walking for hours to admire them and one side is also full with stalls offering foods and drinks and souvenirs and interesting new items everything related and colored in pink cherry blossom.
So we ate the famous pink pastry Taiyaki filled with sweet Anko beans, then we tried to the Sakura-Mochi traditional Japanese sweets made of sticky rice paste also filled with sweet Anko beans. The novelty was Sakura beer that was colored in pink and it was a bit strange because it looks like a rosé wine but tastes like bitter beer 🍻 😂
