Presented at the 19th Annual Salt Lake County Watershed Symposium, November 19-20, 2025. Rock glaciers are large masses of debris-covered ice and are common in Utah’s mountains. They are predicted to be resistant to climate change due to the thick layers of debris that cover them. We will describe new results about the status of rock glaciers in the Intermountain West and what they mean for Utah’s future water supply.
